THE COMPETITION AND PRIZES!!!

The 2008 Richmond Idol will receive :

One (1) year single membership to AFF, retail value of $900.
$1000 gift certificate to SHORT PUMP TOWN CENTER
A three (3) day two (2) night trip to East Rutherford, NJ Tuesday, August 19th for a guaranteed audition for the American Idol producers.
Exposure as the FOX Richmond Idol on a tv commercial following the TOP TWELVE and on FOX NEWS AT TEN
An interview on Lite 98 and/or Q-94 for all of Richmond to hear

Each of the TOP TWELVE will receive

3 month membership to American Family Fitness, retail value of $225

How to Register:

1. Starting Monday, July 14 through August 2, pick up your registration form at Any American Family Fitness location, Short Pump Town Center, FOX Richmond or Clear Channel Radio:

2. Bring your completed registration form to Short Pump Town Center (Broad Street Main Entrance) on Saturday, August 2, 2008 between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m for the OPEN AUDITION. If 300 registrants are not in line or registered by 3 p.m. registration will be available for those who did not bring a completed registration form until all 300 positions are filled.

3. Participants in the OPEN AUDITION will be expected to perform 30 seconds of a song of their choice a cappella (without musical accompaniment). A panel of qualified judges will select the TOP TWELVE performers based on vocal talent (50%), stage presence (25%), and execution (25%).

Competition begins Live @ 5pm
(rain date Sunday, August 10th)
Audience will help decide the winner!
The FOX RICHMOND IDOL winner will be announced from stage at 8:00pm.

The TOP TWELVE must choose one song from a list of songs provided by WRLH and perform (with background music provided by WRLH) at the TOP TWELVE competition in front of a panel of judges. The judges will comment on each performance and rate the performers based on vocal talent (50%), stage presence/appearance (25%), and execution (25%). From this performance, the audience present and the judges will select one (1) winner.
